You could "hide" it but you still couldn't maximize software windows over the entire screen, the dock space remained reserved so what's the point? Or everyone just used it that way for some reason. Either way, just about the dumbest thing I've ever seen. :p
22.05.2019 - 16:16:23 <anon> ^ you can always enter fullscreen mode of course and that's the point of being able to hide the dock - so it won't annoy your fullscreen experience - but the dock area is reserved to avoid the stupidity of windows, where the taskbar "unhides" and then covers your actual application window, rendering the application handicapped and partly inaccessible. i get your point, but it's a better solution than how windows fails to handle it.
